We want to be committed to sustainable business on our own initiative, voluntarily and beyond the legal regulations. To offset our CO2 emissions, we support a recognized climate protection project that is certified according to international standards.

The common good economy is an alternative to the existing economic model of capitalism with its pursuit of profit and constant growth. The overarching goal is a good life for all people. The idea behind it: The state supports companies that produce in an environmentally friendly way and pay their employees fairly.
We support Ukraine.
While looking for a way we can support the people of Ukraine, we came across Dmitry. Since September of this year we have been working closely with his factory in Ukraine and producing a backpack and two wallets there. We decided to help not just individual people, but a larger group 5% of the proceeds donate to a local organization. The aid organization “Rescue Now” was recommended to us by Dmitry because, among other things, his cousin works here. “Rescue Now” helps with evacuation, buys food & medicine and takes care of people in need.
By purchasing products from the Ukrainian factory, everyone supports Nordlicht The customer provides a piece of normality for the Ukrainian employees and donates to help people in need.

Over 8 million tons of plastic waste end up in the ocean every year. By 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. We want to do something about it.
Stop the flood of plastic
Especially in developing countries, the infrastructure for proper disposal is often lacking. Money for plastic – this is the approach used by Plastic Bank. People collect plastic waste in Haiti, Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines. You can exchange this for money, food, drinking water, cell phone credit or even school fees at local collection points. The project ensures that less plastic ends up in the sea. Instead it is recycled.
How does climate protection work with plastic-free oceans?
The ocean stores a quarter of the CO2 from the atmosphere and even 93 percent of the heat from the greenhouse effect - making it a significant brake on climate change. Warming, overfishing, pollutants and garbage endanger this balancing function. Various initiatives prevent plastic waste from ending up in the sea and thus indirectly protect the climate. Because there are no certified emissions reductions, ClimatePartner supports marine protection initiatives in combination with internationally recognized climate protection projects. Clean drinking water project
We support Viva con Agua with a fixed amount every month. Because water is life. Clean drinking water improves and protects health, gives children the opportunity to go to school long-term, empowers women, strengthens local economies and enables a better future. However, many people around the world do not have secure access to this valuable commodity.
Viva con Agua advocates for access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. We focus on positive activism and use the universal languages of music, sport and art in our work and projects at home and abroad. We support the vision “Water for everyone – everyone for water” with monthly donations, because water is life.

We at Nordlicht We care about sustainability and resource-saving designs, but in this world there are so many other important issues that accompany us in everyday life. We would like to use Pride Month to introduce an important organization for the LGBTQI+ community.
In&Out offers advice for young LGBTQI+ people nationwide.
– Through youth meetings and workshops, they make it easier for young queer people to get to know each other and exchange ideas with one another.
– Various DIY projects strengthen self-confidence and make it easier to raise your own voice.
– They are also politically committed to LGBTQI+ interests at the federal and state levels
